The Servant-Leader Training
Academy’s learning objectives address key areas of the philosophy, practice and competencies of
Servant Leadership for both individuals, and organizations in the
private and public sectors.
Key Outcomes for You and Your Organization
- Articulate the concept of Servant Leadership as well as its
positive effective in the workplace and the greater community.
- Identify one’s own strengths and development needs associated
with leading by serving first.
- Discover how to integrate the principles and practices of Servant
Leadership into the cultural rhythms and routines of organizational
life.
- Describe how to create and sustain a collaborative, high-performing
servant-led organization.
During the Academy, you will:
- Enjoy a short review of the history of Servant Leadership and
its business origins.
- Develop an understanding of the basic philosophy and competencies
of Servant Leadership and how they differ from other leadership
approaches.
- Experience the “Personal Journey” of Servant-Leaders
and discover how to begin or expand the “Institutional Journey” in
your workplace by examining what others are doing.
- Learn to effectively communicate one’s personal value system
in a manner that will bring out the finest performance in self
and others.
- Identify ways to foster a workplace climate of caring and trust.
- Understand the difference between persuasion, manipulation and
coercion.
- Explore the use of stories and metaphors to both communicate
and shape an organization’s culture.
- Identify foresight as an operational and ethical imperative
of a leader.
- Recognize the difference between change that is related to events,
strategy, culture and beliefs and learn how to leverage forces
for deep, sustained transformation.
- Be able to explain the distinction between formal authority and
moral authority.
- Take steps to create a culture of accountability
through enduring principles, stories, congruent policies, learning,
and celebration.
